Recycling instead of disposing: a look behind the scenes
How did this come about? What drives the initiator Nina Conrad and the founder Bernhard Neuenschwander? And what makes MARAI products so special? The "Schweizer Familie" wanted to know exactly and visited us in Oberdiessbach. This resulted in an > exciting report, which was also published in the "Tagesanzeiger" andd in the "Bund".
This is where it all began
Thousands and thousands of dried hides are piled up in Neuenschwander's raw materials warehouse. They would actually be ready for tanning. But demand has collapsed, and if there is no use for them, they have to be disposed of. Nina Conrad and Bernhard Neuenschwander said to themselves that this should not be the case. Together they developed and launched MARAI. A label that today inspires people all over the world with its design products made from the best Swiss leather and beautiful furs.
