The history of Neuenschwander began in Oberdiessbach in 1862. Step by step, a one-man fur shop developed into a company that is known far beyond the region for its expertise, consistency and quality. Today, 25 employees work at our sites in Oberdiessbach and Sierre.

As by far the largest Swiss fur tannery we preserve a valuable craft and lead it into the future with modern means. Nevertheless, the diversity of our product range means that we have reached our limits and therefore import some of the furs and fur products.

People have always eaten meat, and they will continue to do so. This produces slaughter by-products such as raw hides and skins. The vast majority of them end up as waste - a scandal. Using skins means acting sustainably.
This also applies to the game skins that we refine and offer you: Fox skins, deer skins, chamois skins, etc. - they all come from local hunting without torturous traps. Not a single animal had to suffer or lose its life for a coat in our range - We also do not carry any skins from breeding farms.
There are numerous ways to turn raw furs into cozy products. Tanning methods. We use the gentlest and most environmentally friendly methods, such as mimosa biotanning. We purify our waste water in our own plant and recycle the tanning agents.
