Whether at home, in the baby carriage or when traveling: Babies and toddlers feel comfortable and secure with a lambskin. Here you can find out what you should look out for when buying and caring for them.
Lambskins have amazing properties that make them the ideal companion for little ones. They work like a natural air conditioning system - without any electricity. The trick lies in the structure of the wool: each fiber is crimped and air is trapped between the crimps. This air insulates, similar to down jackets.
Warms in winter, cools in summer
In cold weather, the air trapped in the wool fibers prevents heat from escaping to the outside. As a result, the lambskin retains the body heat of the little ones. What many people don't know: Lambskin cools in the heat. The wool absorbs moisture that is produced when sweating and allows it to evaporate slowly. This process ensures a pleasant cooling effect.

Purchase check: low in harmful substances, safe, easy to clean
Exclude harmful substances:
Pay attention to the tanning method. Medicinal tanning and vegetable tanning with tannin from the bark of the mimosa tree are ideal. They make the lambskin anti-allergenic, with medicinal tanning even antibacterial.
Prevent overheating:
Babies under 12 months are not yet able to regulate their temperature optimally. You should therefore check regularly that they are not too warm.
Care is worthwhile:
Lambskins are naturally dirt-repellent. It is usually sufficient to remove stains with a damp cloth. For thorough cleaning, you can wash the fur in the washing machine at 30 degrees on a gentle cycle.

An insider tip at the end:
Babies feel particularly secure when they smell the familiar scent of mom or dad. Lie down on the lambskin a few times before using it for the first time - your baby will love it!
