Fox skins - use or burn?

Every year, tens of thousands of foxes are hunted in Swiss forests. If the population is not regulated, the elegant animals perish in agony from disease as a result of overpopulation. What actually happens to the fox skins?

While the beautiful fox skins used to play an important role in fashion and accessories, today we are confronted with a sad fact: The vast majority of furs from Swiss hunts end up as waste. An exception to this are the skins we buy from hunters. They have been refined by us using gentle and environmentally friendly tanning methods.

The warehouse is bursting at the seams

Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find buyers for the fox skins. For this reason, the natural products are piling up in our warehouse by the thousands. They do not keep forever. If they are not sold, they have to be incinerated.

Farmed furs rightly have a bad image

One important reason for the massive drop in demand is the image of fox fur. Many people are convinced that they come from farms where the animals do not have a good life. The fact that people do not want to buy and wear furs from such cruel farms shows a high sense of responsibility, which we share: We do not trade or sell a single fur that an animal had to give its life to obtain. All our wild skins come from stock-regulating hunts.
