In the Stone Age, people knew that sheepskins kept them warm and made the sleeping area next to the fireplace cozier. Large sheepskins were also used in cold castles as soft pads on cold stone. Shepherds wrapped themselves in the wool and nomads bought sheepskins because they were extremely robust and easy to repair. In the 19th century, tanners perfected their craft and made sheepskin even more suitable for everyday use. It now smells pleasant and ages more beautifully. Even though very few people still live in cold castles today, real sheepskins enhance modern life: as a yoga mat, a bench cover, a rug or a place for dogs and cats to lie down. This is how sheepskins have changed their roles over the ages.
